Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Responds to Family Criticism Following Trump Endorsement

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. addressed the criticism from his wife and other Kennedy family members after he endorsed former President Trump. During an appearance on “Fox News Sunday” with Shannon Bream, Kennedy was asked about the family tension stemming from his endorsement.

“My family has deep roots in the Democratic Party,” Kennedy said, noting that several of his relatives are actively involved in the Biden administration. He highlighted President Biden’s long-standing connection to the family, mentioning the bust of his father that sits in the Oval Office.

Kennedy expressed understanding of his family’s concerns, saying, “I love my family, and I know they’re troubled by my decisions. We grew up in an environment that encouraged passionate debate, and while we may not always agree, the love remains.” He also pointed out that many of his family members are actively supporting his campaign.

Kennedy emphasized the importance of maintaining relationships despite differing opinions, stating, “It’s crucial that we can disagree with each other and still love one another.”

The tension within the Kennedy family became public when Kennedy’s siblings released a letter condemning his endorsement of Trump, stating that his decision betrayed the core values their family holds dear. The letter also expressed their support for Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Kennedy’s wife, actress Cheryl Hines, has also expressed discomfort with his decision, sharing her concerns on social media. Kennedy acknowledged her unease, adding another layer to the family’s complex dynamics.

Despite the family rift, Kennedy remains steadfast in his decision, while his family continues to advocate for their own political beliefs.
