Israel’s Deadly Onslaught on Lebanon: Over 490 Killed in One Day

In a devastating escalation of violence, Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon have claimed the lives of more than 490 people, including a large number of women and children. This horrific toll surpasses any single-day death count since the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war.

As the violence intensified, thousands of Lebanese fled the southern regions of the country, creating a massive traffic jam on the main highway leading to Beirut. The exodus mirrored the scale of the 2006 conflict.

The Lebanese health ministry reported a staggering 492 fatalities, including 35 children and 58 women, and over 1,645 injuries. This devastating blow comes just days after a deadly attack on Lebanon’s communication infrastructure.

In a televised address, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged Lebanese civilians to evacuate their homes, warning of impending danger. He assured them of their safety upon the conclusion of the military operation.

Israel’s military spokesman, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, vowed to take all necessary measures to eliminate Hezbollah’s presence along the Lebanon-Israel border. While Hagari claimed significant damage to Hezbollah infrastructure, he did not provide a timeline for the operation and hinted at the possibility of a ground invasion.
